Groups

At Ampersand Counseling & Well-Being, we believe in the transformative and healing power of community. Growth and positive change happen in relation to others; it’s very hard to do these things in isolation. Whatever the situation, being able to tell your story and to hear the stories of others who can authentically say “me too” brings clarity and perspective as well as comfort and validation.
Groups run either weekly or twice a month, and usually last for 1.5 hours per session. We keep each group between 4 and 8 members so that there is enough time for speaking, hearing, and processing. An “open” group is a group that is always open for new members to join (as long as the group size remains under 8). A “closed” group is not open to new people joining during the time that the group is running. An “on-going” group does not have a pre-determined end-date.
We try to listen to what our clients are needing and to then responsively create small groups. Therefore, our group offerings change throughout the year. Check back with us frequently to see what groups are running, and please don’t hesitate to let us know if there’s a group you’d like to see offered.
